Paddle the Rouge

Paddle the Rouge 2019 would not have been possible without our spectacular partners and sponsors such as Parks Canada, MEC, The Cement Association and Tarpin Lumber. And of course without you. Thank you.

Paddle the Rouge is an annual Wildlands League event that connects youth and families to nature. Our paddle is intended to inspire and build the next generation of stewards for Canada’s wilderness starting with Rouge National Urban Park.

With over 20% of Canada living within an hour of the Rouge Valley, this remarkable natural area and its wildlife are a treasure. Paddle the Rouge welcomes and encourages newcomers to Canada, youth, families and adventurers of all ages to explore and learn all they can about the proposed Rouge National Urban Park.

Rouge National Urban Park is home to over 1700 species of birds, fish, mammals, insects, reptiles, amphibians, and plants, including 23 species at risk. The Rouge Valley also contains one of Ontario’s best remaining examples of Carolinian Forest and the last intact watershed in the area.
